On the other hand, with the Moto G3 there is much more control, in terms of brightness and other useful settings, and I appreciate that more than simplicity, as I'm sure it'll all make sense after a few more uses. It might not be the best for desktop applications, but it's intuitive for phones. Fortunately, the Android icons are just as intuitive, if not more so. Once I found the widgets, I found those intuitive as well. On the other hand, there is one simple thing I miss. On Windows Phone, the Messenger app would always show me through the tile how many new messages I had.

Messenger on Android has an icon that doesn't change though I keep finding myself looking and doesn't have a widget that does this either. New messages do show up as notices, though. I must say that every app that exists on both OSes is better on Android, so far, and sometimes dramatically better. Reviews were favorable about Motorola's choices here, and I agree: I feel remarkably unburdened by junk when using this system.

It is definitely the best phone I've had, with the fewest user interface issues and annoyances. Much of this comes from Android 6. I have no trouble at all with the service. I wish I could tell you how many hours my phone stays charged, but all I can really say is that it doesn't run out during the day, and if I forget to charge it overnight, it's still up the next day. Basically, I wanted a phone that did what I expected it to and didn't get in the way. So far, it's been exactly that. Overall, this phone has some impressive features; however, the most basic function - the call volume is terrible.

I tried everything; however, individuals on the other side can't hear me properly unless I hold the phone right next to my lips. Secondly, I have hard time hearing them as well. I never had this type of problem with several models of Samsung phones that I have owned in the past. There are hundreds of complaints on Google talking about this volume issues with Moto G5 Plus.

This is a great phone and value were it not for a pretty bad audio issue. After the phone has been in use for a bit, it consistently starts emitting a loud, periodic static crackling noise. It comes on with both Bluetooth headphones as well as the normal phone speaker, so I don't think it's a hardware issue, but troubleshooting online I haven't been able to find any fixes.

Really, really annoying, as it will cut through whatever audio is being used at the time. It's just hard to overlook such a recurring, intrusive issue. Bought this cell phone and the first red flag was moto-lenovo cell phone. Oh boy! Motorola sold there soul on this one. Bad blinking flashing and restarting and off then would not correct after factory reset back to the same blinking and flashing. Only lasted out of the box about 3 hrs. LOL just flat out to screwy to work with.

I own an old moto-x that works great. Not this model my next cell phone will be LG why take a chance on all this handed around add this and that to a junk phone and call it Motorola when it is not. Lenovo what the hell that ever is. This would be an excellent handset, but it has difficulty recognizing that it has a sim card inserted. I have tried multiple sim cards, but every time I power off and back on I have to remove the sim card several times and push it in very firmly until it seats and is recognized.

I've never had this problem with any other phone, and I don't know if this happens on all G4 handsets or just this specific one.

If I wasn't having this problem I'd be very pleased. As it is, the handset is very unreliable. It keeps building mystery system data that you can't find, see, or delete for any reason I can find. Clear cache and app data, delete apps all you want, the only way it will give you back your storage space is a factory reset. It had accumulated about 3 GB of system data I couldn't remove without rooting and voiding my warranty.

Deleted all but 4 of my apps just so it would update the google and moto apps you can't remove from the phone.
