So to simulate a normal use case scenario, a typical monsoon downpour, I kept the phone under a showerhead for about 10 minutes. As expected, the device functioned normally after going through this ordeal. I did face some issues with the earpiece at first, but it fixed itself within a couple of hours. But Samsung, in the process of taking every aspect of stock Android and making it their own, have introduced a number of useful features which make the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Similar to Android 7. You can run two applications side by side using snap or you can even put them in their own tiny windows which float around while you continue working in some other application. There are also some other minor features which users will probably use much more.

There is a device maintenance feature which keeps track of possible issues which can cause performance to suffer. It monitors resource intensive applications and closes any unnecessary service which is running in the background. Other features include a game mode to increase performance while playing resource intensive 3d games, smart call, smart alert, smart stay and whole bunch of other smart stuff. Both A7 and A5 have been fitted with Exynos In terms of raw performance, it is a little bit more powerful than a Snapdragon processor.

Games do load a bit slower, and graphic intensive games might take a hit in the fps department a bit, but mostly it performs adequately for normal usage. But… As is the case with A7 , A5 is also overpriced for what it has to offer. Geekbench and AnTuTu benchmark results reflect my concerns. Samsung is known for its good displays, so assuming that a phone by Samsung will have excellent screen is no rocket science.

Thankfully this assumption holds for A5 too. The p Amoled screen is amazing with good color contrast, great outdoor visibility and more than enough pixel density.

It would probably be a sin to say something bad about it just for the sake of it. Another aspect which Samsung devices are almost always expected to ace is the camera. Arguably, Samsung makes the best camera phones in the world. Unsurprisingly, expectations were quite for me before I started using this phone. A7 almost lived up to this expectation. There are a couple of high-profile Android smartwatches out there, but nothing hugely innovative.

We try and keep conditions as uniform as possible so that we can draw fair comparisons between similarly capable devices. While the Apple Watch Series 5 is not packed with upgrades over its excellent predecessor, the addition of a screen that constantly displays the time is very welcome. The fitness and activity features really encourage you to up your game, nudging you to work at your three daily activity goals move, exercise, stand.

Hit your targets to gain badges — and that satisfying buzz on your wrist. The updated display, excellent fitness tracking features, sleek design and a huge number of strap options combine into a seriously tempting iPhone 11 accessory.

It costs more than the original Watch Active, but it offers superior performance and features, and interaction with the Watch Active 2 is far more satisfying thanks to the clever touch bezel. Spotify is pretty much the lot.

The Vivoactive 4 is one of the best mid-tier fitness trackers on the market. Highlights include stellar GPS location tracking, inbuilt storage for music and maps, and the ability to track an extremely comprehensive range of sports. It ticks all the boxes for toughness and useability. A near-perfect blend of personal assistant features and fitness tracking capabilities. Fossil has finally hit its stride with its fifth generation of smartwatches. Fossil clearly now understands the physical parameters it needs to follow if its smartwatches are to be taken seriously as fitness trackers.

Colourful app icons pop against a black menu screen, and some of the more artistic watch faces cram extraordinary detail into a small amount of space. Smartwatch functionality is somewhat lacking as the Fenix 6 is primarily a fitness tracker. Casual gym goers or runners looking for an Apple Watch 5 rival would do better to consider cheaper models from Fitbit and Garmin, which has a great Vivo line of trackers.
