I state this in direct disagreement with the usual thought about getting older. I am NOT writing this to be critical of anyone and yes, I know that there are conditions and illnesses that are passed along in families. I believe these are the exceptions though and not the norm. And, even in such circumstances, there are ways to mitigate what one has inherited.
My way of contradicting the status quo is to do it through exercise. I currently work out six days or nights a week. I retired from programming on December 31st, I did that for a number of years, while living in Florida and began to really dislike all the time I saw as being wasted with the traveling back and forth. This motivated me to begin buying exercise equipment, as I could afford it until, after about 15 years, I had my own home gym.
